Rafaël Rozendaal
Rafaël Rozendaal (b. 1980) is a Dutch-Brazilian net artist working with websites, installations, and public works exploring digital media's aesthetic possibilities. His primary work consists of abstract interactive websites — single-serving works whose domain names function as titles — offering reduced, hypnotic visuals based on simple generative systems: colour gradients, collisions, and movements that respond to the mouse. Acquiring a Rozendaal website means acquiring its domain name and traffic, raising questions of ownership and value online. His work is held in major collections, including the Whitney Museum, which has acquired and commissioned several of his browser-based pieces.
