Radioqualia

Founded in 1998 in Australia by New Zealanders Honor Harger and Adam Hyde, the collaboration creates broadcasts, installations, performances, and online artworks investigating how broadcasting technologies can produce new artistic forms. Their long-running project Radio Astronomy intercepts electromagnetic signals from space via partnerships with radio telescopes worldwide, converting them into audio for live internet and airwave transmission. In 2004 the duo received a UNESCO Digital Art Prize for Radio Astronomy and have exhibited at Ars Electronica, NTT ICC Tokyo, and the Walker Art Center.
