Purgist

Purgist is the project of Polish artist Dawid Kowalski, established in 2013 as a successor to his previous solo endeavour Sleep Sessions (2005–2013). Working within noise, dark ambient, and post-industrial electronic music, his recordings—including Bleak Prospects and Our Temple Is on Fire—draw on urban field recordings, digital artefacts, and aural atmospherics organised around reflections on personal obsession and self-destructive behaviour. Kowalski also founded the online community HarshNoise.org in 2006, which evolved from a web forum into a collective of artists, journalists, and enthusiasts devoted to radical music.
