Phoebe Hui
Based in Hong Kong, this artist and researcher makes work across sound installation, robotics, kinetic sculpture, and generative systems, exploring how technology mediates perception. She holds an MFA from UCLA and an MA from Central Saint Martins. Her early sound installation Translucent Noise (2008) introduced her to wider audiences, and subsequent pieces including Granular Graph (2009) engaged physical acoustics through mechanical systems. She received Young Artist of the Year in Media Arts from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2012 and Artist of the Year in 2022, and was awarded the Audemars Piguet Art Commission in 2021.
