Phillip Sollmann

Born in Kassel in 1974, this Berlin-based musician and producer began performing with alternative rock groups in the mid-1990s before transitioning into electronic music. He released his debut EP as Efdemin on the Dial label in 2004 and relocated to Berlin in 2005, where he established a residency at Berghain. His albums—including Chicago (2010), Decay (2014), and New Atlantis (2019)—draw on minimalism, dub, deep house, and Detroit techno. He studied at the Institute for Computer Music in Vienna and operates his own label naïf.
