Phillip Corner

Philip Corner is an American composer, pianist, trombonist and calligrapher born in 1933 in the Bronx, New York, based in Reggio Emilia, Italy since 1992. A central figure in the Fluxus movement from its earliest years in the 1960s, he studied with Henry Cowell, Olivier Messiaen and Henry Brant, and has subsequently produced hundreds of scores, performance works and graphic compositions across six decades of activity.

His works range from simple text instructions and meditative open forms to extended graphic notation, percussion pieces and interdisciplinary performance.
