Philippe Parreno
Philippe Parreno (b. 1964, Oran) is a French-Algerian artist whose work spans film, installation, performance, and sculpture with a distinctive engagement with narrative, time, and the conditions of presentation. His films and exhibitions — including Snow Dancing (1995), No More Reality (1991), and the Ann Lee Project (1999-2002, with Pierre Huyghe) — investigate the status of the fictional subject, the temporality of the exhibition, and the relationship between image and action. He has presented at Tate Modern, the Serpentine, and numerous major institutions.
