Peter Rehberg
Born in London in 1968 to an Austrian father, he relocated to Vienna and became one of the defining figures of European experimental electronics. Recording as Pita, his 1996 debut album Seven Tons for Free on the Mego label—later awarded a Prix Ars Electronica—helped establish the glitch and laptop music movements of the following decade. He founded Editions Mego in 2006 as successor to Mego, building a catalogue that included Oneohtrix Point Never, Caterina Barbieri, and Mark Fell. He died of a heart attack in Berlin in July 2021, aged 53.
