Peter Kutin

Born in Styria in 1983, this Vienna-based composer and sound artist works across studio production, live performance, film scores, theatre, and radio, with a particular focus on field recording under extreme physical conditions—capturing desert sand movement or contracting salt crystals. A founding member of the electronics ensemble Ventil and co-founder of Ventil Records, he also performs in the duo Kutin|Kindlinger. His kinetic sound sculpture TORSO #1, in which four speakers mounted on rotors create shifting acoustic fields, won the Prix Ars Electronica Golden Nica in 2019.
