Pekka Kujanpää

Pekka Kujanpää is a Finnish musician associated with the early Finnish avant-garde and experimental music scene documented on Arktinen Hysteria: Suomi-avantgarden esipuutarhureita (2001). He collaborated with M.A. Numminen and Tommi Parko on Eleitä kolmelle röyhtäilijälle, a work that exemplifies the playful, transgressive spirit of 1960s–70s Finnish experimental practice. His recordings represent some of the earliest attempts in Finland to develop an avant-garde music practice that engaged with Fluxus, concrete music, and experimental sound in a distinctly Finnish cultural context.
