Pefkin

Pefkin is the musical persona of Gayle Brogan, a Sheffield-based artist working with voice, acoustic and electronic instruments, and a ritualistic approach to composition rooted in the landscape and mythology of the British Isles. Her work moves through psychedelic folk, drone, and neo-ceremonial music, often responding to specific geographical and folkloric material. She has contributed to the Folklore Tapes Ceremonial County Series, with Norfolk: The Lantern Man (2024) responding to the East Anglian legend of the Ignis Fatuus. She also performs and records as one half of the duo Pumajaw with John Cavanagh.
