Pauline Anna Strom
Pauline Anna Strom (1946–2020) was an American electronic musician who recorded a series of ambient synthesiser albums in the early 1980s under her own Trans-Siberian Pipeline imprint before withdrawing from active musical life for over thirty years, returning to recording and performance in the 2010s following rediscovery of her work by archivists and experimental music enthusiasts. Visually impaired from birth, she developed a tactile and spatially immersive approach to synthesiser composition, building environments of considerable emotional and formal depth from the limited technologies available to an independent artist in the early 1980s.
