Patrick Shiroishi

Patrick Shiroishi is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, composer and poet based in Los Angeles. He started piano at four and picked up saxophone in fifth grade, later drumming and singing in the band Japanties and playing keyboards in prog outfit Upsilon Acrux before majoring in classical guitar and music therapy in college. Over the past decade he has become a foundational figure in LA's improvised music scene, working solo and across countless collaborations. His grandparents met at Tule Lake, one of the WWII Japanese American incarceration camps, and that inherited history now drives his prolific catalog of saxophone-centered, emotionally raw records.
