Oswaldo Lares

Oswaldo Lares is a Venezuelan musician and performer working with electronics, synthesis, and experimental composition. Based in Caracas or in Latin American diaspora networks, his practice engages with the tensions between Venezuelan musical traditions — joropo, electronic cumbia — and international experimental electronic music frameworks. He releases on independent labels and performs in Latin American and international experimental music contexts. His work represents part of a broader conversation among Latin American musicians about the relationship between local cultural identity and global experimental music practice.
