Omar Fraire

Born in Guadalajara in 1980, he is a cellist, composer, and multidisciplinary sound artist who has developed a practice oscillating between experimental music, installation, and pedagogy. He studied cello at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, later trained in Sonology at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague, and completed a master's degree with Alvin Lucier at Wesleyan University. A doctoral graduate of the University of North Texas, he is the founder of Punto Ciego Festival, a platform for sound art and experimental practice based in Mexico.
