Olan Monk

Olan Monk is a musician, performer, and writer from Connemara on Ireland's west coast, working across experimental and popular songwriting for electronic and acoustic instruments and voice. Raised between classical piano at home, sean-nós and traditional music in Gaelic-speaking Connemara, and a teenage turn toward rock and grunge, they build songs folding Irish tradition into confessional, gothic-tinged art rock. In 2018 they co-founded the label and event series C.A.N.V.A.S. with Lugh O'Neill. After Love/Dead (2020) and Auto Life (2021), their second album Songs for Nothing appeared on AD 93. They have performed at Rewire, Cafe OTO, the Barbican, and Dublin's National Concert Hall.
