O Yuki Conjugate
O Yuki Conjugate is a British experimental group formed in Nottingham in 1982 by Roger Horberry and Andrew Hulme. Their early cassette releases on Midnight Music blended 4AD-influenced atmospherics, tribal percussion, and environmental sound into a distinctive form of avant-garde ambient that pre-figured later developments in world-inflected electronic music. Albums including Equator (1986) and Peyote (1989) developed an immersive, often unsettling sonic world that sits outside conventional genre categories. Reissues have introduced their work to listeners in the context of revived interest in experimental 1980s UK music.
