Nick Blinko
Nick Blinko (born 1961) is a British musician and outsider artist, best known as vocalist, guitarist and lyricist for anarcho-punk band Rudimentary Peni, formed in 1980. Blinko draws all of the band's artwork: densely worked pen-and-ink compositions of skulls, faces and obsessive patterning, often fused with fragmented text. Diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, he has described compromising his own psychiatric stability to keep producing work, since medication otherwise dulls his output. First exhibited in 1994, his drawings are held in the Collection de l'art brut in Lausanne. He has also written and illustrated several books, beginning with the novel The Primal Screamer (1995).
