Napalm Death

Formed in Birmingham in 1981, they pioneered grindcore by fusing crust punk with extreme metal speed, producing songs so compressed that their debut album Scum (1987) contained twenty-eight tracks in under half an hour. Drummer Mick Harris is credited with coining the term grindcore. The stable lineup of vocalist Mark Greenway, bassist Shane Embury, and guitarist Mitch Harris, consolidated through the late 1980s, has remained the core of the band for most of its career across more than fifteen studio albums.
