µ-Ziq

µ-Ziq (pronounced myoo-zik) is the alias of Mike Paradinas (born 1971), a British electronic musician and founder of the Planet Mu label. Releasing on Rephlex Records from 1992 — initially at Richard D. James's invitation — Paradinas developed a style of melodically rich, technically complex IDM and breakbeat that made him a key figure in the Aphex Twin generation of UK electronic music. Albums including Tango N' Vectif (1993), Lunatic Harness (1997), and Bilious Paths (2003) demonstrate a consistent ability to produce densely layered, emotionally engaging electronic music. He has continued to develop Planet Mu into one of electronic music's most important imprints for adventurous music.
