Morten J. Olsen

Born in Stavanger, Norway in 1981 and based in Berlin since 2006, he is a percussionist, composer, and DJ working across improvised music, electronic music, and noise. He was a member of the high-energy duo MoHa! with guitarist Anders Hana, which expanded into the quartet Ultralyd. In Berlin he joined Splitter Orchestra, a twenty-five-piece improvising collective. His 2014 solo debut Bass Drum! on the +3dB label explored extended technique with a rotating prepared bass drum. He has contributed to over forty records and performed throughout Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia with projects including The Pitch and NMO.
