Monolake
Monolake is the project of Robert Henke (born 1969), a German electronic musician, software developer, and visual artist based in Berlin. Co-founder of Ableton with Gerhard Behles, Henke developed Monolake in parallel as a vehicle for minimal techno and experimental electronic music. His albums on Chain Reaction, Imbalance Computer Music, and his own label Monolake deploy precise digital sound design and carefully structured rhythmic systems that occupy a space between club-functional techno and conceptual sound art. Subsequent work has moved increasingly into ambisonics, spatial audio performance, and laser-based visual installation, performed under the title Lumière.
