Mogens Jacobsen
Mogens Jacobsen (b. 1959, Rome) is a Danish media artist based in Copenhagen and a pioneer of Danish net.art since the 1990s. Trained in mathematics and later media science at the University of Copenhagen, he is Adjunct Professor in Digital Culture and Mobile Communication at the IT University of Copenhagen. His reactive artifacts synthesize historical and contemporary technologies, testing constraints built into digital systems. Razz Ring (Hertzian Herd Healing), 2025, is a generative sonic sculpture combining singing bowls, robotic mallets and network-sniffing electronics that scans nearby phones and turns their signals into a shared musical score. His work has featured at transmediale.
