Modeselektor

Modeselektor is a Berlin-based electronic duo comprising Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, active since the mid-1990s. Releasing on BPitch Control and later their own Monkeytown label, they developed a high-energy hybrid of techno, electro, hip-hop, and bass music characterised by maximal energy and an eclectic approach to bass-weight. Their collaborative album with Thom Yorke as Modeselektor vs. Radiohead — Moderat with Sascha Ring — extended their reach into more international alternative audiences. Albums Hello Mom! (2005), Happy Birthday (2007), and III (2013) document an evolving practice that prioritises physicality and cross-genre energy over stylistic purity.
