Michele Anelli

Michele Anelli is an Italian double bassist, improviser, and sound artist based in Turin. Moving from electric bass in noise and post-punk groups to double bass and free improvisation, he works through extended techniques, field recordings, and electronics, seeking what he describes as pure sound — a utopian return to a language before language. He performs in the duo Oort with Nicholas Remondino, the trio Vòrti with Michel Doneda, and the electronic project Tzaumness. He has collaborated with Evan Parker, Phil Niblock, and Giuseppe Ielasi, and released on Kirigirisu, Neus-318, Tour de Bras, and Invisibilia Editions. He organised the Noise Delivery Festival in Turin for five years.
