Michael Teufele
Michael Teufele is a Berlin club promoter and co-founder, with Norbert Thormann, of some of the city's most influential nightlife institutions. In the early 1990s the pair began organizing the male-only fetish night Snax in venues including the Reichsbahnbunker in Mitte. In 1998 they opened Ostgut, a techno and gay club in a former Friedrichshain railway depot that became a defining space of post-reunification Berlin nightlife. After Ostgut closed in 2003, Teufele and Thormann converted a disused power plant into Berghain, which opened in 2004 and remains one of techno's most storied venues. They later launched the Ostgut Ton label in 2005 and Ostgut Booking agency around 2007.
