Michael Gatt
Composer and researcher working with acousmatic music and site-specific sound installation. He completed a PhD in electroacoustic music analysis at De Montfort University in 2014 and is a senior lecturer in music at Kingston University London. His compositional practice divides between acousmatic works — typically centred on a single sound source as generative core — and site-specific installations in which the acoustic properties of a location become structural. He led development of the OREMA project, an AHRC-funded open-access online repository and peer-reviewed journal for electroacoustic music analysis, designed to support collaborative scholarly engagement with the repertoire.
