Metamatics

Metamatics (Neil Stringfellow) is a British electronic musician based in Bristol. Releasing on Neo Ouija and Hydrogen Dukebox in the late 1990s and early 2000s, he developed a warm, melodic style of IDM and ambient techno characterised by lush chords, carefully crafted drum machine programming, and a sensibility closer to Detroit techno than the colder European digital aesthetics of the period. Albums including 23 Drones for Slender Cervix (2000) and Be My Frequency (2001) are well-regarded within the UK underground electronic music scene for their musical substance and emotional warmth within technical experimental forms.
