Merv Espina

Merv Espina is a Manila-born artist and researcher based in Quezon City, working across moving image, sound, performance, and text to probe the gaps and blind spots of cultural institutions and archives. He is program director of Green Papaya Art Projects, an interdisciplinary artist-run space, and co-founder of Kamuning Public Radio, a sonic arts platform. He also helps organize WSK Festival of the Recently Possible, an experimental music and media art festival active since 2008. His curatorial work includes SUNSHOWER at the Mori Art Museum and VIVA EXCON, the Philippines' longest-running biennial, treating institutional history itself as unstable material.
