Max Eastley

Max Eastley is a British sound artist and improviser whose work with aeolian harps, natural phenomena, and kinetic sound sculptures has made him one of the most distinctive figures in British experimental music since the 1970s. He is known for constructing instruments and sound objects that are activated by natural forces — wind, water, the motion of the body — rather than by electronic means, producing music that emerges from the encounter between designed objects and environmental conditions.

He has collaborated with David Toop in a long-running partnership that has produced recordings and performances exploring the intersection of improvised music, natural sound, and installation.
