Max Durante

Italian DJ and producer who began his career in Rome in 1987 and became a key figure of the early Italian techno and rave scene. In 1991, alongside the twin duo D'Arcangelo, he co-founded Automatic Sound Unlimited, one of Italy's first experimental techno groups, blending electro and industrial tones in ways that anticipated what is now called industrial techno. Sonic Groove label founder Adam X has cited him as a true innovator of the genre. His 2018 ambient-techno LP The Experiment was released on Kynant Records. Since 2015 he has been part of the Sonic Groove roster and has collaborated with Anthony Rother, Keith Tucker, and Aux 88.
