Matthew Ostrowski
Matthew Ostrowski is a New York-based composer, improviser and installation artist working with live electronics since the 1990s. Trained at Oberlin Conservatory and the Institute of Sonology in The Hague, he builds performances around custom software and formalist processes applied to everyday sonic material, probing the space between virtual and physical experience. His collaborators include John Zorn, David Behrman and Diamanda Galás, and his work has appeared at Transmediale and MaerzMusik in Berlin, Wien Modern, Sonic Acts, the Kraków Audio Art Festival and The Kitchen in New York. He teaches at NYU and has received fellowships from STEIM and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
