Matt Weston

Matt Weston is a percussionist and electronic musician based in Albany, New York, performing solo and in collaboration throughout the US, Canada and Europe. His practice combines drum kit and hand percussion with electronics, feeding acoustic playing through processing to build dense, physical improvisations. He has recorded with Barn Owl, Tizzy and Thrillpillow, and collaborated with Bill Dixon, Kevin Drumm, Roger Miller of Mission of Burma and Smog, releasing through labels including Tautology, Sachimay and his own imprint 7272Music. Praised by Vital Weekly as "a true innovator," his work has drawn coverage from the Wire, the Village Voice and Signal to Noise.
