Martyn
Martijn Deijkers, who records as Martyn, is a Dutch producer and DJ raised near Eindhoven before relocating first to London and later to Washington, D.C. He began DJing drum and bass in 1996, and after hearing Kode9's Sine of the Dub, became one of the first producers from outside the UK to shape the emerging dubstep sound, fusing it with the Detroit techno and hip-hop of his youth. His debut album Great Lengths appeared in 2009, followed by Ghost People (2011) on Brainfeeder. In 2007 he co-founded the label 3024 with visual artist Jeroen Erosie, releasing Jacques Greene, Steffi, and Leon Vynehall. He has held residencies at Panoramabar and Good Room, and hosts the NTS show Darkest Light.
