Martin Sorrondeguy

Martin Sorrondeguy (b. 1967) is a Uruguayan-American hardcore punk vocalist, photographer, and filmmaker. Born in Uruguay, his family immigrated to Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood in 1968. As frontman of Los Crudos he sang bilingual lyrics on Latino immigrant identity and social struggle, and founded the DIY label Lengua Armada Discos.

During this period he became one of hardcore punk's first openly gay vocalists, appearing in the 1997 documentary Queercore: A Punk-U-Mentary. In 1998 he formed the straight-edge queercore band Limp Wrist in Philadelphia. He directed the 2004 documentary Beyond the Screams: A U.S. Latino Hardcore Punk Documentary, and his photography appears in his zine Susto.
