Mark Solotroff

Mark Solotroff is an American noise and industrial artist based in Chicago, active since the late 1980s. His primary project, Bloodyminded — formed with Brian Nervous — operates within the tradition of American power electronics and industrial noise, combining harsh electronics with confrontational imagery and text in works occupying the territory between formal experimentation and aggression. His parallel project Anatomy of Habit integrates post-rock, doom metal, and industrial composition into a more textural practice. As a label operator — through Bloodlust!, founded in 1994 — and promoter since the late 1980s, Solotroff remains a sustaining presence in Chicago's noise scene.
