Mark Harwood
Born in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia in 1972, Mark Harwood ran the experimental record shop Synaesthesia in Melbourne before relocating to London, where he founded Penultimate Press — a small-run imprint releasing music and books by artists including Graham Lambkin, Étant Donnés, and Matthew P Hopkins. Under the alias Astor he makes recordings that draw on field recording, musique concrète, and electronics, developing works that resist genre cliché. His 2022 album Offering was recorded in Berlin and mixed in London by Graham Lambkin. He is active across music distribution, performance, and publishing.
