Luz María Sánchez Cardona
Luz María Sánchez Cardona (b. 1971, Guadalajara) is a Mexican transdisciplinary artist, writer and researcher working across sound, radio and multimedia installation. Trained in piano and literature at the University of Guadalajara, she completed a doctorate in art at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with a thesis on Samuel Beckett and radio art. Her installations use recorded voice, gunfire and found audio to confront structural violence and forced disappearance in Mexico. She founded the Mexican Acoustic Ecology Network and directed Radio Universidad de Guadalajara and Canal 22's international channel. Work shown at CCCB Barcelona, MUAC, ZKM Karlsruhe and Laboratorio Arte Alameda.
