Lussuria

Lussuria is a project of William Mayberry, a Detroit-based musician whose work combines post-industrial electronics, house, and synth-pop with a deeply intimate and personal quality unusual in those traditions. Releases on Hospital Productions and Malignant address the body, desire, and longing through synthesised music of considerable emotional directness. His practice is influenced by the legacy of Detroit's musical cultures — techno, gospel, and industrial — and maintains a consistent attention to the vulnerability of the self within electronic music. He is an important figure in the convergence of power electronics, dark ambient, and dance music in American underground contexts.
