Lucifer Sky

Lucifer Sky is the solo alias of Indira Lakshmi, a multidisciplinary artist based in Coventry, UK working across sound, performance, sculpture and DIY electronics. Begun in 2018 as an amalgamation of field recordings and distorted melodies, the project traces geographic and psychological displacement, oscillating between chaos and calm across experimental drone, noise and ambient textures. Lakshmi builds pieces from found objects, spoken word and homemade MIDI instruments, and has extended the practice into community work, recording conversations about place and memory with South East Asian elders living with dementia. Releases include Shimmering Wound, Viridian Rush and PrinCess Pit.
