Lucas van der Velden

Based in the Netherlands, he studied at the interfaculty for image and sound at the Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. A co-founder of the Rotterdam art collective Telcosystems, he collaborated with Japanese filmmaker Takashi Makino on the film Deorbit in 2013. He also co-founded Baltan Lab in Eindhoven and has long served as director of Sonic Acts, the Amsterdam organisation dedicated to sound art, technology, and ecology, which has run for over thirty years as one of Europe's leading experimental arts platforms.
