Low Jack
Philippe Hallais, who records as Low Jack, was born in 1985 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and works from Paris. Emerging around 2012 from the city's experimental techno underground, he builds tracks from dubbed-out low end, tape hiss, and fractured club rhythms that resist easy genre labels. His 2014 debut album Garifuna Variations, commissioned by the Musée du Quai Branly and the Les Siestes Électroniques festival, reworked field recordings tied to the Garifuna people of Honduras. Later albums Sewing Machine (2015) and Lighthouse Stories (2016) appeared on In Paradisum and The Trilogy Tapes, alongside releases for L.I.E.S. and Modern Love. He has performed at CTM, Unsound, and Berghain.
