lovesliescrushing

lovesliescrushing is the project of Scott Cortez and Melissa Arpin-Duimstra, an American duo working in shoegaze, drone, and noise since the early 1990s. Distinguished from conventional shoegaze by a more extreme commitment to abstraction — guitar and vocals so heavily processed as to become pure texture and harmonic cloud — their releases on Projekt Records including Bloweyelashwish (1993) and Chorus (1995) established them as the most extreme and formally adventurous band in the shoegaze-adjacent space. Their output has continued sporadically for three decades, always characterised by overwhelming sonic density and extreme attenuation of recognisable musical structure.
