Loren MazzaCane Connors
Loren MazzaCane Connors (born 1949) is an American guitarist based in New York. Playing in a style derived from blues guitar but emptied of convention — slow, spectral, muted notes sustained by long silences — he has released an extraordinary quantity of recordings since the 1970s on labels including Family Vineyard, Ajax, and Table of the Elements. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1993, his playing continued with even greater economy, the condition transforming into an expressive tool. He has collaborated with Jim O'Rourke, Thurston Moore, and Keiji Haino. His music is consistently described in terms of grief, longing, and spectral presence.
