Linda O Keeffe

Sound artist and researcher based in New York, where she holds a professorship in the Department of Art at Stony Brook University. Her practice spans sound installation, performance, acoustic ecology, and social soundscape studies, with recurring concerns around climate, gender, and technology in music. She founded Women in Sound Women on Sound (WISWOS), an international advocacy network for women in the sonic arts, and served as Editor-in-Chief of Interference: A Journal of Audio Culture from 2012 to 2022. She co-edited the volume The Body in Sound, Music and Performance, bringing together research by women working in contemporary sound practice.
