Leslie García
Mexican sound artist and electronics developer whose practice centres on the relationship between living systems, biological processes, and sound. She co-founded the electronic media collective DreamAddictive in Tijuana in 2003, the activist group Astrovandalistas in Mexico City in 2011, and the bioart collective Interspecifics in 2013. Her project Pulsu(m) Plantae uses custom biofeedback devices to translate the electrical signals of plants into live sound via analog synthesis. Her work has been presented internationally through residencies, exhibitions, and concerts, and she has written extensively on sonic ecologies and interspecies listening as artistic and political practice.
