Leena Lee

Leena Lee, the alias of Lena Ortega Atristain, is a Mexico-based atmosphere artist, field recordist and researcher exploring corporeal attunement to environment through affective listening. Working through slow observation and extended field recording, she weaves sounds of human and more-than-human presences into immersive listening pieces, including the collective project Bosque Vacío. A founding member of Arte+Ciencia at UNAM, she hosts the radio programs Sin Superficie, La Piel no es el Límite (Radio Nopal) and The Weight of Atmosphere (ROVR). Her work has appeared at Tsonami (Chile), Lips Hydra (France) and Momentum 13 Biennale (Norway), presented alongside Robertina Šebjanič.
