Lali Puna
Lali Puna is a Munich-based electronic pop group comprising Valeria Valeriano, Christian Heiß, Marco Messina, and Markus Acher (also of The Notwist). Releasing on Morr Music in the early 2000s, their albums Tridecoder (2000) and Faking the Books (2004) developed an intimate, bedroom-scale electronic pop sound built on programmed drums, delicate guitar, synth, and Valeriano's small, precise vocals. The Morr Music aesthetic — glitchy digital production applied to song structures of unusual quietness — was emblematic of a broader European indie-electronic movement, and Lali Puna were among its more thoughtful exponents.
