Kurt Liedwart

Born in Moscow in 1977, he is an artist, improviser, and label founder whose practice moves between electroacoustic music, noise, glitch, actionism, and Fluxus-influenced approaches. He plays analogue synthesizers, electromagnetic devices, and light-controlled electronics, processing everything in real time, and uses field recordings as compositional material. In 2005 he founded Mikroton Recordings in Moscow, a label dedicated to experimental and electroacoustic improvisation that ran until 2025 and issued collaborations with Keith Rowe, Gunter Muller, and Norbert Moslang among many others.
