Kristin Oppenheim

Kristin Oppenheim is an American artist working primarily with voice, sound, and audio installation. Her work uses looped and layered recordings of her own voice — often singing pop songs, lullabies, or fragments of memory — to create immersive spatial experiences in gallery contexts. She has exhibited at major institutions including the Guggenheim Museum, the Kunsthalle Basel, and MoMA, and her work is held in significant public collections. The repetition and spatial qualities of her installations draw from minimal art traditions while maintaining an emotional and autobiographical charge derived from the material of everyday song.
